Craig here from Pastmaps, it's been a while! We’ve been hard at work this summer continuing to build and ship new features, maps, and updates on our quest to make Pastmaps the best place on the internet to research historical maps. Take a look and feel free to reply to let us know what you think!

We are excited to share that all 185,000+ maps in our collection are now fully explorable in 3D! To our knowledge, this makes Pastmaps the only place on the entirety of the internet with this capability and we are extremely proud of it. You can now easily enable 3D mode on any map by clicking on the "3D" button in the bottom right corner. Pan, zoom, and explore mountain tops, canyons, ghost towns, stagecoach trails, and more like never before. Immerse yourself in history.

Searching and discovering maps has never been easier with our new and improved search engine. You can now search based on address, place name, city, county, or state to sift through our massive collection and find the exact maps covering your area of interest.
Our map of the month is this incredible 1897 topographic map covering New York City. It's absolutely stunning, chock full of interesting details and differences from over 127 years of development.
